Uncharted is overrated, and what? Pt. 6

This whole mini-series has been dragging on for some time now. I’ve had a short break from it all whilst i’ve been on holiday, but I’m back with a vengeance and a steely determination!

I’ve finished Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection; the first three games of the series in their remastered format for PS4.

Honestly, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the ride I’ve been on over the past few weeks but has my opinion changed? Are the games still overrated? Well, I think I’ve played enough to form an opinion without the need for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and my answer is yes, they’re still massively overrated.

I’m back!

Back from my holidays, back to gloomy ol’ England, back to reality, back to work, back to gaming.

Before I ‘booked it, packed it and f*cked off’ there was a fair amount left unsaid (if you don’t get that reference from a true national treasure, you’re seriously missing out in life). So here’s a not-so-brief update.

Two down, two to go! Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is all done and dusted. I’m not all that interested in trophies at this point, I’m just hunkering down and getting through each one as quickly as possible. This one has taken a little longer due to other distractions I’ve had going on, nevertheless I’m back on course and hopefully I’ll finish Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception before long.

Episode 19 – It’s coming home, it’s coming! Football’s coming home!

Weekend Warm-Up!

After last weekend, it’s been an uphill struggle this week to recover from lost sleep. After the euphoria of last weekend and winning that craved-for cup on Sunday, I’ve certainly felt the repercussions this week.

Despite my seemingly never-ending tiredness, I’ve managed to finish up on Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and I have moved onto the second one, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. If you’re interested in reading my thoughts on the two (soon to be four) games, check out my blog series “Uncharted Is Overrated, And What?”.

One down, three to go! That’s right, I finally finished Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune from the Nathan Drake Collection. I say ‘finally’ as if the game was a drag, which it felt like in parts but it didn’t take all that long in reality. I managed to finish the whole thing on hard in just over 6 hours. Although many may see that as a bad thing, for me, I’m happy with that. I suppose that you can forgive the game being so short because, as part of the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection, you’ve got three titles to play. The thought of buying this game for £40 though, on it’s own in 2007, is a frightening one. Me though? I just wanted to get it over and done with as quickly as possible.

I’m playing the Uncharted series in its entirety. Once I’m finished, only then can I fully justify my negative opinions of it. Over the course of my journey I’ll post little snippets of how I’m doing and whether my opinion is changing.

What better place to start than at the beginning? Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. A game that I’ve never even seen in action.

I said that I was playing this game with a clear mind, without any previous thoughts or opinions. I did, I loaded it up without any prejudice whatsoever… but it’s just not very good is it? I’m around 4-5 hours in and I’m just so bored.
