A while back when I made my impulse purchase of a Playstation 4; for some reason unbeknownst to me, I had it in my head that I could still place my sweaty hands on the Silent Hills P.T. (playable teaser).
Obviously, I thought wrong. Oh so very wrong.
When Konami had their way with poor ol’ Hideo Kojima and cancelled possibly the most exciting looking game of our time, they pulled the demo off the PSN store too.
Everyone loves a freebie! No matter what it is, it’s always nice to be rewarded or even just given something from the kindness of someone else’s own heart. When it hasn’t cost you a dime; drinks go down faster and food tastes better! Even if it’s something you don’t particularly want or need, if it’s free you’ll have an urge to try and claim it.
Or maybe I’m just a cheapskate that loves scrounging off friends… meh, perhaps.
Either way, both Sony and Microsoft have plenty of tricks up their sleeves when it comes to enticing you into their subscription based services; but which is better? Here’s a hefty list of available titles from each side and it’s down to you to be the judge… no seriously, I’ve got a poll and everything.
Oh dear God, no!
No… not now, not like this!
There’s a huge PSN flash sale going on at the moment and my wallet is not prepared in any shape or form.
I’ve managed to plow in over 10 hours of gameplay into Horizon Zero Dawn, so what are my thoughts?
What can I say about this game that hasn’t already been said? Very little it seems, but I can at least offer my opinions on what I think makes this game so good and also what features are really starting to grind my gears.
Episode 09 – The Honeymoon Period!
“Just like that, as mysteriously as he arrived, he was gone”…
That’s right, the weekend has been and gone. If you blinked, you may have missed it!
In these series of posts, I’ll be documenting all the little goings on that happen to me over those precious couple of days. Religious folk believe they’re rest days, Sunday in particular, but I think we all know that they were really designed for sitting in our pants, playing video games.
I’m weak. Oh, so very weak.
I’ve got this terrible impulse of buying things that I really don’t need. This one time, I bought a pair of Beats Studio 2.0 wireless headphones for just under £300. How many times have I used them? Around 10 times give or take, I’ve only had them for about 18 months… yeah, I should probably look to sell them an recuperate some of my spending.
So what have I bought this week? My latest impulse-purchase comes after the release of Horizon Zero Dawn. Yep, you’ve guessed it! I’ve bought a Playstation 4. Horizon Zero Dawn was the final straw as far as exclusives were concerned. I’m fed up of getting nothing but trash for the Xbox One whilst PS4 owners enjoy the good times.

“Why would anyone play an old game?“
There’s no argument here, I already feel like I’m wasting my time writing this. I’ve never once thought “I’m not playing that game as a newer one is out”. What an absurd thought process.
Last week, I was speaking to one of my closest friends. I was explaining to him the I’d bought Gears Of War 4 and, as he’s a huge fan of the series, I was trying to convince him to get it himself. He’s a tight-arse, which explains why he’d hadn’t already picked it up but I thought I could twist his arm into buying it. As part of my argument, I’ve told him that as well as the full Gears Of War 4 game, you get every previous Gears Of War game bundled with it. I spoke about this briefly in a previous post. I’m talking Gears 1, 2, 3 and Judgement.
